KitchenAid Gourmet Essentials Stainless Steel Cookware Sets
After doing a fair amount of research for cookware within my budget, I decided on this set. I have to say, I couldn't be happier. The construction is superb, the weight is nice and heavy, and the value per pan for this Amazon.com exclusive is awesome. If you would like to see more reviews on this set, look at the Gourmet Essentials 10-piece set. The 14 piece also includes a wok-shaped 11 inch make-anything pan with a lid and large heavy saute pan with a lid.
I was a little disappointed to find out that the lids are not glass, but stainless as well (it does mention what kind of lids they are in the description, although I wasn't paying close enough attention). However, after some additional research and use, I found out that most higher end sets do not use glass lids (glass forms more condensation on the outside of them than the stainless), and that I kind of like the stainless lids better. They are easier to clean for one!
At any rate, the rest of the details are great. They are made from a nice solid 18/10 SS, so nothing cheap here, and they have not become very spotty or hazy with thorough and quick cleaning. I am now a fan of stainless vs non-stick and with this set, you may very well become one too. I highly recommend this product.
