I personally haven't experience anything like the bad reviews..I love my set and I enjoy cooking without smoke in my apartment and I don't miss burnt things either..This is a great, great deal for the money you spent so don't expect high end quality like the heavier sets or Calphalon brand. If you consider yourself a chef do not get this set because you might be disappointed but if like me you are a person who loves food and experimenting with flavors and do not wish to spend $300+ for a set, this is a good purchase and they look very nice. The leads are not air tight which is good to let some vapor/steam out..also the deep saute pan is awesome and great for stir fry dishes, seafood, and veggies!! Just follow directions on how to clean after use that way you don't experience the same outcome as other reviewers did. I usually wash mine with a less abrasive soft (I use the organic type) and then I dry it with a kitchen towel. So far no problems..so I would recommend it and even buy this as a gift to someone..
